Spring Break Trip
I have a 1200 (round trip) mile long trip in April that taking with my 2000 Chevy Blazer. So far I have done almost everything short of a new engine and transmission, mechanically it's in top shape. My only question is how confortable are these truck's on long drives; it's a 11 to 12 hour drive one way and I'm going to see some family. I haven't sat in the driver's seat for more than an hour on a single drive, anybody have any comments or stories as to how these trucks do on long trips?
Also, my A/C and stereo work perfectly. |
Sister took a 93 4.3l 2wd blazer to Texes from Iowa at 80mph along with 3 other people. Made it there in record time. This was a few years ago but it is still running at 230k now. So I would say if it starts fine and drives fine do it. My CC has a ignition problem, but did not stop me from towing a ~3000lb of pop up camper and gear 140 miles round trip.

Longest I've done is about 5 hours and it was like a caddy. A loudy squeaky rattling caddy. Only took a little more than quarter tank too. I didn't think it handled the distance poorly at all

i drove from Lee's Summit MO to south padra in 15hrs with 3pl in the back seat and 2 in the very back and noone was complaining besides it wasnt geared for long distanced drives so kinda loud to evryone but me

I have driven about 6 hours straight (except for 2 minute a gas break). I was tired, but I would have been tired in anything. If I were changing anything for a long trip, it would be putting sound deadner in. I think the noise would wear you out more than the seats.

I've driven 12+ hour days several times in mine. My only complaint was having to find gas stations and a new a radio station every few hours.
