Hello.

I would like to install a 2" inch body lift on my 96' S-10 Blazer. I have a few questions that I would like to know before I go about buying this.

I was wondering how much difficulty it takes on putting a body lift on a blazer.

I was also thining about getting a new set of wheels and tires...how big am I able to go with a 2 inch body lift?

as for tires.... 31x10.50x15........ you can get 30x9.50x15 on stock height.... so the2 inch body lift is actually only gonna gain oyu 1/2" of clearance...... when you swap rims... watch the backspacing..... as for the body lift itself... when I was considering it... I PM'd Hanr3..... he put one on himself..... I would advise you to ask him or someone else who has done it... it is very time consuming...

 

Not trying to be offensive to anybody, But how is a 2inch body lift only gonna give 1/2 inch clearance. I'm not an expert by any means but just doesn't seem right. Anybody else know??

 

well, you are lifting the body off of the frame.... giving your frame no extra ground clearance..... you can fit 30" tires on a stock height blazer, 31's on a lifted one.... a body lift keeps your frame at the same clearance level as stock.... adding the 31's gives you only 1/2" more ground clearance than the 30's would without a body lift..... do you understand what i'm trying to say? bodylifts do nothing for your ground clearance except allow for bigger tires. a 2 inch only allows for one inch bigger (in diameter) tires... making the actual gain 1/2".

 

By increasing the tire size by only 1", you gain .5" of clearance over the lowest point of the drivetrain.

You'll gain 2.5" of clearance with the body though.

if you don't plan on doing any off-roading but want the bigger tires for looks, it is a great plan.. hell, i would still off-road with a body lift..... but as for clearance.... the lowest point of clearance on a non-ZR2 are parts attached to the frame.... lifting the body doesn't lift those parts.... the only frame clearance you can gain from a body lift is the 1/2" provided by the tires.... so yeah.... what jigg said...lol i was writing this while he was posting.. haha

 

No Problem I understand that one. Some people just want to put bigger tires on I guess. If they don't want the frame to ground clearance than a body lift isn't for them

 

yeah... and might I add... body lifts look damn good on these trucks.....

I am still planning on off-roading but I am not really, how would I put it... "financially inclined" enough to do a nice suspension lift. I think the picture a_tack had looked extremely badass. Thanks for the information, I will be buying one of these some time soon once I figure out the problems I have on some noise coming from the drivers side wheel.
