Front Driver Bottoms Out

Hey guys I haven’t posted in a long while but I’m having an issue with my 98 blazer 4x4 (5.7 swap) I can’t quite figure out. The front drivers side bottoms out hard with the slightest of bumps but the passenger front is normal. If I’m pulling out of the driveway more than a crawl it will hit hard. If there’s a dip in the road it seems to slam down hard and if there’s any bumps that aren’t “subtle” it hits hard. Am I looking at trying to source new torsion bars or have I missed something? I recently back at the end of December replaced both upper control arms and ball joints and also did axle seals on the front diff. The front end seems to sit at the same height, no significant droop.

Maybe check your torsion adjustment... the bolt might be backed out. As well as the shock absorber. Did you replace the bushings with the control arm? Hows the bump stop? Is it 2wd or 4wd?

edit: nvm the 4wd part lol vouldnt remember... long day...

Thanks for the reply, I finally had time to get underneath it after having it parked for a while. The drivers side shock was totally off the bushing on the lower side, I'm pretty sure the shop that did the alignment on it overheated the shock assembly causing the bushing and what not to melt since they said they had to use a lot of heat on the adjustment sleeve on that side. Replaced both front shocks and took it for a test drive and it drives perfect now! No more bottoming out and clunking, glad it wasnt torsion bars.

I second that! Always great when someone reports back once they get the problem fixed :)
