leaf springs above the axle

can we move our axles under the leaf springs, looks like it would be fairly simple?
Has anybody done this? any reason why we shouldnt?

Sure you can, it is called the SOA (spring over axle) swap. However, this will raise the back end ~4" and the closest front end lift is the 5" or 6" suspension lifts which drops the front diff down lower using brackets.

it will lift it 5in but like kyle said to get the front to match you will have to buy a kit

jayjen1317 02-11-2010 08:28 PM

so getting the front to match is the problem, with doing that?
it would be easy for to do just the back but expensive to get the front to match

correct

Easy as cutting off the spring perches and rewelding new ones up top. Did it on mine using the stock springs

Crispy23 07-30-2010 09:23 AM

if you were to flip the brackets in the rear where do you get the lift kit for the front end ?

abig84 07-30-2010 12:22 PM

Yea basically. So whatever lift you get in the back just buy the one for the front the same height
