well, the best kit out there to lower it has to be belltech. djm is crappy and it's got bad rep. tuckin' 22's shouldn't be that hard, if you get the right offset, and a tire that isn't too big. the best way to lower it in the rear is 3" blocks and 2" leafs or bag it. front would be 3" coils or bagging it. but i wouldn't suggest bagging it unless you have about 1500 to spend and are halfway decent with a welder.

RE: lowering an 01 xtreme

id say the most u can do is a 2/3 drop. the back isnt really an issue, its the front cuz of turning. and there is no point in going more than 1" lower in the back as compared to the front. I have (and this is what i suggest for you) a 22 x 9.5" rim with +20 mm offset and a 255/30/22 tire. it is a 28" overall diameter tire. if you can find a narrower rim then go that route, but they are very uncommon. and a 10" wide rim is too wide, its pushing it.

Edit: ****, i just rerear what you wrote. i allready have an xtreme so its lowered about 2/2. the blazer sits higher then the s10.......on the s10 you cant lower it anymore if you have the xtreme with 22s. but the blazer u do, u might be able to get away with an additional 2/3 drop drop onto of the stock zq8 suspension.

here is a helpful thread for ya, make sure to read post #12 especially: http://www.s10forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=288348
