Need help with a few questions...

I think I posted this in the wrong forum before, so here goes again....

Ok, first I should start by saying that I'm sure the answers to my questions are on this site somewhere, but after using the search function several times, I couldn't find the answers.

1stquestion: How does the ZR2 Blazer (98-05) acheive it's Wide Stance?

2nd question: How much higher lift is it, over the base 4x4 Blazer?

3rd question: How does the ZR2 Blazer acheive it's lift? What's different than the base model?

4th question: If I want to lift my Blazer 2", are those kits on eBay a good choice? The ones that sell the new Torsion Bar adjusters and rear shackles... They're only like $150
I really just want to clear some 31"x10.5x15 tires without having any issues. I'd also like the wider stance of the ZR2 but I don't know how to get it.

question 1: Thats just how the suspension on theZR2 is made. It is taller than the normal 4x4, so to bring downthe rollover risk, GM widened the stance.

question 2: the ZR2 has a 3in. lift from the factory, and has P255 85 R15s (if Im not mistaken) which gives it about an inch more.

question 3: modified suspension liftand tires

question 4: as far as I know torsion bar adjusters are just key to adjust it, you can adjust it with an 18mm wrench. shackles are just spacers for the rear leaf springs.

You cant get the wider stance that the ZR2 has. The Frames and suspension systems on the ZR2 are different. 3" taller, and 3" wider - not including the larger fender flares. I doubt you'll be able to clear 31's with 2" lift. I have a ZR2 with 4" lift after stock (running 32's) and still had to trim out the fender so it wouldnt rub.

Oh, and those Torsion keys you're looking at adjust the torsion bar ANOTHER 1/6th turn which will give you the additional lift on the front, which will make your front camber bad-- Your tires will look like this from the front: /------\

Well I disagree... I'm not saying I'm gonna be using the same parts that a ZR2 uses, I just want that stance... For instance, I bought 1.5 inch wheel spacers and if I lift it 2 inches and put 31" tires on it... then basically I've got the same stance.

What I was wanting to know was, What parts are different; shocks, wider axles, springs, etc.... What makes them different?

Oh, and yeah I know, I'd need an alignment. Not really a big deal, I can get an alignment anytime I want for free.
