radiator hose?

I've recently lifted my 89 4.3 about 2.5-3 inches to fit 18's. Since doing so I've had a bad problem with my alternator hitting my radiator hose. I guess the way it moves after hitting a bump or such is causing it. I've tried zip ties but they eventually snap and take me right back to where I started. I know I can't be the only one that's encountered this problem! I'm looking for some ideas on a new hose patern or different shroud or anything else that will prevent replacing a top hose every month.

I would think a body lift would give you more clearance but I guess it could be throwing the angle of the hose weird and I don't think a suspension lift would affect that - but I could be wrong - that being said have you checked your engine mounts? Also maybe a longer universal ribbed flex hose, they have steel reinforcement so they won't collapse and can be twisted just a bit and make a bend that will stay to keep things out of the way

Well it may not be the lift, but I drove it 12 years stock and never had to touch it. Since I've lifted it I've replaced it four times. It's the way it shakes at speed bumps and pot holes that pulls it into it

I looked at your sig and I see you did a 3'' spring lift - if things are shifting I would still look at all engine and trans mounts also radiator mounts - A broken or weakened mount will let engine lift - a block of wood between jack and oil pan or vib damper, jack slowly and see what moves - be a place to start and if nothing else it would rule them out
