I've seen these same wheels on a lot of different years on these blazers.......Mine is a 2001.......how many other years did they do these wheels?? not a very good pic........but I think enough seen for you to identify...

The ones on the blazer? I believe that a 2nd gen rim. Not sure if they had them for the 1st gens...

My 2000 came with the much less attractive (IMO) "directional" wheels.

Both my 98s and my 2000 4x4s both came with them

It sounds like they were popular for a number of years......I like them......they remind me of the "mag" wheels of the 60's..............thanks for the info

I guess we can't tell the model years by the wheels anymore ;-)

As far as 4x4, there were 3 kinds for the 98+. (Maybe more...with the steel rims and such included.)
The type you have, I also had on my 98.
The directional blade kind (salad shooter-esque) was very popular.

But I think 2002+ used the big clunky wheels you see on most ZR2s nowadays.

1st gens only had 3, I think, including steel rims.
The 2 wheel drive pickups and blazers had quite the selection of wheels to choose from over the years. ZQ8, Xtreme, etc..

El_Beautor 08-27-2018 09:15 AM

My 96 Blazer came with that style rim as well.

I think 95-97s had the 5 spoke and the salad shooter blade type.
95 4x4 Jimmys and Sonomas had a different wheel for a year or two. Same with the Bravada, up to 98.

Around my parts it's not unusual to see 1st Gen 5 spokes on a 2nd gen.. :icon_shrug:

My blazer is a 2001 as far as all of the paperwork says.........are you saying [N Jensen] that my wheels aren't stock??........I really don't know, that is why I'm asking.......just curious,,,,,

I like the wheels and they are pretty tough.......so they'll stay........

N. Jensen 08-28-2018 04:27 PM

I'm sure they are stock. I wanna say that wheels were an option, like moon roof, cargo cover, etc. Probably limited upon which trim package was selected.

Anywho, the way I identify different years anymore consists of one or two things; side mirrors, interior, and even the color of the Blazer itself.

95-98 shared the same mirrors. 99+ used the elephant ear style.
The seats were changed to a nicer, sleeker style in 03-04.
Color is ... subjective. :icon_duck: Different years had different colors available.
