22's on a stock height 99 4X4 4Dr Blazer
Hi all, new to the group and new to my Blazer. I've read all the posts across the 11 or so pages that pertained to larger wheels on our Blazers butcouldn't find anything definitive. I'm not a wheel/tire guy so when I order a new package I trust the vendor to hook me up right. I've made a request to one of the nets larger wheel/tire package retailers for 22" wheels and they came back with 305/40/22 rubber. I have 305/40/23's on both a Hemi Ram and F150. Looking at them the 305's seem way too big for my 99 S10. Can we start a definitive 22" thread with pictures? I don't plan on changing ride height. Been there done that and even done right, ride quality suffers. I'd really like to get a wheel/tire package ordered by the weekend so any input would be greatly appreciated.
On a side note, I had purchased the Blazer for our daughter and grandson but she'd prefer an Isuzu Rodeo so I think I'll just keep the blazer for myself. I look forward to being an active participantto this forum. |
RE: 22's on a stock height 99 4X4 4Dr Blazer
Trust your gut, 305's would most likely be too wide, as discussed in this recent thread. I don't think I've seen 22's on a 4WD Blazer, the closest is NJ4X4BLAZE's ride (20's). This isn't stock height or 4WD, but shows 22's. Tire rack is showing 285/45/22 as recommended tire size for 22 x 9.5 rim. You can see the difference between stock (non-ZR2) rim/tire (235/70-75/15) and recommended tire size on this site. Sorry if I haven't answered your question, but I doubt many people will have pics of 4X4 Blazers with 22's.
EDIT: DubCanadian has 22's and it's 4WD, though I don't see him on much... |

Thanks TBB. I'll shoot for a 265/35 in 22 and see what is available. I'd still like to see a definitive 22" thread with pics. It helps with the visualization.

you might have more takers if it were a 2wd offset.

These rims are for a 2wd blazer they dont make some for a 4x4 for some reason when i bought these. The tire and rim on mine sick out about and inch which i dont mind but they will for sure fit a 2wd. |

RE: 22's on a stock height 99 4X4 4Dr Blazer
Well first off my ride suffers a little not much though. I have recently just put a 3/4 drop on my blazer and it rides like a rock. But i guess you have to suffer for a nice ass ride. Also thanks I love my Licence plate. I am looking to get 1,600 for the rims so if anyone is interested email me. Also i rubbed at first in the inside wheel well but i fixed it with a cut off wheel it wasnt major i promise. Also because they are a 2wd offset they sick out about an inch but if you have 2wd they wont |
