32's.. are they worth it?

Okay, imagine this... You have just installed a 2 inch suspension lift and a 2 inch body lift on your 1998 + Blazer.... you need tires... upon researching you find that a 31 x 10.50 will fit with no rubbing and allow room for wheel spacers and suspension flex with no clearance issues. 32 x 11.50's will also fit but will not allow room for wheel spacers and may rub a bit when flexed... upon further research (checking actual diameters with tire manufacturers BFG, Goodyear, Interco, Maxxis, etc.) you find that on average a 32 x 11.50 is actually only .5-.8 inches larger yet it is $10-$20 a tire more expensive... Now weigh this out, bigger is not always better.... Is it worth the extra money for an extra 0.25-0.4 inches of clearance from your tires? Let me know what you think. . . . .

i'd go with the 31 x 10.50's i wouldnt want to spend the cash for that little of a difference, also why spend that much more and have to deal woth the problems when you could get the 31's and be set to go with space for wheel spacers and suspension flex....just my opinion

i had 32x11.50s on my truck with a 2 inch susp and a 2 inch Bl on 2wd rims and i had to cut alot of the bottom of my fender and i still rubbed
i can get you a clear pic of my fenders if ya want em

Good times on the TruXus tires, gota couple buddies that run them on silverados and they arent that bad. Once i get those spacers in like i mentioned in the pm ill put the 2 inchers on the front before i move em to the backjustto give ya an idea of how 2wd rims would be and if anything rubs.

Stevelknievel, if you could put up those pics of the fenders for the 32's that would be awesome so i know where to start with the sawsall......or the plasma if i can borrow it from my dad again :D.

On my truck I could clear 31's with the 3" BL. I would have went 32's but didn't want them 11.50 wide. So went with the 33's 10.50 cause that makes it worth it. =)

Riddle me this. Is it worth going from 30" tires (which fit a stock S10 with no mods) to a 31" tire which requires a 2" body lift? Is it worth all that effort for 1/2" more ground clearance?

I garuntee you that 1/2" won't mean jack when you get stuck. and that 1/2" isn't enough to stop you from getting stuck.

thats what i was thinkin Hanr3... buti was goin for more of looks than ground clearance.... guess I could level my truck with a slight t-bar tweak and just do 2wd rims with my 30's

What gears do you have?

And yes, it's worth it. It looks way better, and the rubbing isn't anything you won't get over really quick.

You can run your stock rims and 1.25" rear spacers with the 32's. You'll be happy with the stance.

I'm sure you've seen this before, but... my brother's blazer with a 2" BL, 32x11.50 Pro Comp MT's, 2.25" shackles, 1" t-bar crank, and 1.25" spacers:
