33"s or 35"s

I have to get new tires eventaully, probably sooner than later. Right now I have 33"s on there but kinda want to go with 35"s but I'm thinking itll cost even more than what its worth with speedo calibration and my mpg might go down even more- remeber I'm cheap so it does make a difference to me. Is it worth it to put 35"s and how much of difference cost-wise and performance wise and mpg-wise would it make

RE: 33"s or 35"s

35's will cost more per tire than 33's How much more depends on the tire. As for the speedo recalibration, if it's already calibrated to 33's 35's aren't a huge difference. Go 5 under on the highway and you should be fine, plus you will get better gas milage. MPG will mainly depend on the way you drive the truck, the truck itself and the speed you are going at. 35's will be more wind resistance but if I had to make a guess I would bet if you drive the truck the same way and everything else then you shouldn't see more than 3-4 MPG

I drive like an old lady (usually) so I donbt really ahve to worry about that. You think Ill actually get better mpg with bigger tires?? i thought it was the other way around. I guess I really dont want to have to pay more to begin with for ibgger tires and then pay even more down the road for more gas.

No I don't think you will get better MPG I meant 3-4 decrease in MPG sorry if it wasn't clear.

Oh ok thats what i figured oringinly. I get like 10-15. Ill probably stick with the 33"s since I dont need much bigger for what I do, but would like the look of them mostly. If somehow I get tons more money maybe down the road I'd get bigger

You already get horrible gas mileage, I dont 35" will make that much of a difference. Not on your truck. I vote for eht 35", gas prices just went down. [8D]

Bigger is better! I don't ever look at my gas milage though.I have 36" Monster Mudders on my '85. The only thing I will do different when I replace them is to go with radials. I have bias plys on right now and I have to drive 5 miles before they stop "thumping"
I just check my speedo with a portable GPS unit.
