94-2000 ZQ8 wheels on a 4wd, painted?

I've seen some photos of S10s and Blazers running these either stock finish and look or solid blacked out, but has anyone ever done anything more creative with these wheels and had a good look in the end? I don't like the all black look, and I'm not big on the all aluminum look either, so I thought about scuffing the entire of the wheels up with a red scotch pad, taping off everything but the center bar in each of the 5 spokes and the inside edges of the spokes, hitting it with a few coats of primer and black, peeling away the masking, then laying clear coat over it all. This will leave me with a sort of split spoke look. It would have a bright aluminum rim/lip around the outside by the tire, two bright aluminum spokes on each of the 5 spokes broken up by the painted blank spoke in the center. I have to get some center caps for them, for now I'm just going to paint the "hole" black, but I have yet to decide what to do with the center cap color when I get them (opinions on that?).

Wouldn't be my first venture into repainting S10 wheels. Did a set of Xtreme wheels a while back for my father's Sonoma and they came out great :)

Threw some paint on these wheels today. Came out pretty good! Can't wait to see them on the truck tomorrow :)

They all started out like this...

After some degreaser, a red scuff pad, and some elbow grease, they cleaned up pretty good

Applied the spoke masking

Then masked off the outside and tire

Couple coats of primer

Couple coats of black

Multitasking lol

Watch paint dry and enjoy the view :D

Peel off the masking from the wheel, tape off the tire, and spray some clear coat

Peel all masking off and step back and marvel at the creation :)

In the end I had one wheel left to do, and I'll be dammed if the sun going down is going to stop me lol

Great job. Looks great.
What's the backspace of these wheels?
Can't wait to see them installed.

I'm not really sure about the backspace, whatever stock 2wd wheels are lol

Got them balanced and bolted on this AM, all before lunch :D They ride SOOOO much better than the 31x10.5 Dick Cepek Crushers that were on it lol and my speedometer is a little closer to accurate so that's a plus :P They stick out to the sides just enough for me, I really dig the way they look. Keep in mind that I also have 1.25" spaces in the back to even out the track width with the front.
