BFG M/T's for free
today my friends uncle gave a me a set of 31x10.5x15's for free, he was going to put them on his sonoma but he totaled it, i was just wondering if they would fit, and also how much money they would have ran me to buy them..

RE: BFG M/T's for free
YEAAAAAAAAAAAA Steve!!! How much tread on them? I like the look of those M/T's fairly aggressive looking.

RE: BFG M/T's for free
uh, well the back two are brand new, the front ones are a little beat, the have some were on them but are still good.
do u think i should put the good ones on the front or back? |
RE: BFG M/T's for free
Always put the best tires on the rear. If a front tire blows, you have control through the steering, but if a back one goes, you're on your own.

RE: BFG M/T's for free
My opinion is back, they're the tires that will see the wear more frequently as they're turned by the engine. Front tires will see wear, but only if you're turning really hard all the time, or if you're in 4x4 all the time. Then since you saved money by getting free tires, buy three more (2 for front and one for spare) and rotate them in.

RE: BFG M/T's for free
if i need a spare, im just gonna ride on the full size spare, or maybe ill buy a cheap 31 inch tire, theres no way in hell im buyin another for a spare
|
RE: BFG M/T's for free
Yea..the spare is for limping home IMO. 180 bucks for a spare...yikes
|
RE: BFG M/T's for free
I've always put the new tires on the front...
Always better to be able to stop and steer. |
RE: BFG M/T's for free
I ALWAYS put the better tires on the rear. Cause it rear wheel drive.

RE: BFG M/T's for free
It doesn't really matter if you put them ont he front or back.
You do rotate your tires don't you? Hard to beat free. Nice score. I scored some 285/75R16 (33"x11.5") Cooper Discovery ST tires for free once. Found out they were under recall and it cost me $10 (for chrome valve stems) to get a brand new set of Cooper Discovery STT tires. They didn't have 4 of the ST in stock, and the STT were on sale so they were actually less in cost then the ST. Timing is everything sometimes. :D Forgot to add. you can run your factory fullsize spare, provided you put it on the rear axle and deflate the tire on the opposite side of the axle to match diameter. No doubt your ABS light will go off, detected a difference in tire size from front to back. |
