biggest wheels without tranny problems
 
ok just thought of it as i have been planning out my blazer. i will be doing atleast a body lift and prolly a susp lift also so thats not an issue my question is what is the biggest i should go hight wise without overworking my engine/tranny and not needing to change anything in the tranny? thansk in advance

You wouldn't be changing anything in the transmission, but rather the gears in the differentials.

The biggest wheel is dependent on a lot of things. To start, what is your gear ratio and tire size stock?

wouldnt all or are gear ratios be the same being that (or atleast by year) they woudl be? i have a 96,

Not necessarily. For example, the brochure for 2002 shows that all 2WD Blazers got the 3.42 rear end, but 4WD could get 3.42 or 3.73, depending on the model configuration.

ok i have a 96 2dr 4wd. if that helps. i will figure it out once i acually get to see it(on vaca) how do i fugure it out though once i have the gearing?

You need to check your RPO code list in your glove box. GU6=3.42 and GT4=3.73
