Caliper rubbing on rims

Hey guys, I recently got some Cragar Soft 8's with -4 inches of backspacing and they rub on the calipers just a little bit on the front.
I know the only solution is just getting spacers and I will when I can afford them, but I am just curious if anyone else has had this problem.
When reading about other people's Cragar's, I never saw this come up, could it be because the -4" of backspacing?

Also, the offset on them is -12mm. Could this have an effect on the caliper rubbing?

Thanks. :D

someone else had a problem like this

if i remember right they grinded the caliper down till it stopped rubbing

id get spacers in the future to make sure they aren't rubbing tho

Yeah, planning on the latter in probably a month or so.

if only barely rubbing then yeah just find the shiney spot on the caliper and grind them down. im running 15 inch rims on my 1ton and had to grind down each side about 30 minutes to make them fit

hmm i wonder how a 1 ton looks with 15s =P

So are there any downsides to grinding off just a little bit of the caliper?

i just put on my soft 8's today and had the same issue. i just ground down the bracket a little and it seems fine. im always paranoid when it comes to these things. mine only rubbed a little bit on left turns. grinding seems to have fixed it.

if you look at the pics of mine you will see 15s on 3/4 ton axles and had no problem with rubbing.

is it rubbing the caliper or the bracket? My pro comps rub on the bracket. I just ignored it. I found the steel wheel is stronger than the cast bracket. All it did was wear the paint of the wheel but it ground down the caliper brcket
