differance in tire sizes??
 

I want to put either 33" or 35" tires on my truck. It's gonna have a 6" suspension lift with a 3" body lift.. Will there be a noticeable power loss cause they're such big tires? It's probably gonna cause excess wear on the clutch, will it be a lot of wear with these tires? And i want them to be 12.5" wide will i have to put wheel spacers/ different rims so when i turn the steering wheel it wont hit the frame??

33's will be fine, you will need to put new gears in such as 4:56 or so to make up for the larger diameter tire. I have heard that 35s may be too big for the blazers IFS to hold up to, maybe someone else will chime in and know for sure. Hope this helps,

You will not lose any power... it will just require more power to turn the wheels.

As stated lower gears (higher numbers) will be needed otherwise it will feel very sluggish.

The wear will just be increased. I have seen companies make IFS parts that hold up to a lot more, but can not think of them off the top of my head. One company was featured in a 4x4 magazine and they were from Northern Illinois and basically designed cv joints that could withstand more than traditional U joints...

I am assuming you are talking about your 87 with the 2.8 since thats the only manual listed in your sig... I would definitely stick to the 33's and re gear your truck from in the 3.00's to up in the high 4's... 4.56 is very popular as stated earlier, but there is also 4.10 and some people have gears in the 5's but you will lose much of the Economy with the gear change.

you will be able to fit 33s with that lift. You will want wider wheels for a tire that wide. Look for 15x8 or 9 with 5in backspacing. You will definitely want to re-gear since you have a 2.8l.

What is the backspacing on the stock blazer rims? And I'll probably go with the 4.56 gears, is there a good place to get them? Either on the internet or in CT?

The stock back spacing on 4wd is 6 inches.... anything less will cause the tires to sit further out
