Default Help!! What size wheels will work?

I'm a new blazer owner, new to this website. I bought a 96 2door 4wd blazer. I'm wanting to fix it up for light offroading. I'am looking for 15x8 or 15x7 black steel wheels that will stick out a little. Going to use my current tires till I get a 2.5 inch lift. Then I will go bigger on tire size. Currently on 235/75/15. My question is what size wheels will without a doubt fit? Two shops locally have told me I can't put 15x8 on here. Who can tell me for sure ?

I would stick with a 15x7. It's the back spacing that will get you more than the inch difference in the rim. Most after market wheels have a max 4.5" bs which will give you the slightly wider dance you are looking for. I have that combo on my truck as a reference for you. I am also running spacers in the rear to even out the track width front to rear.

You can put the 15x8 black steel wheels on your truck, but it will limit your tire size. If you can find a set of 15x8 wheels with a 6" backspacing, you could go a bit bigger tire.
