Inside wheel dish

So I have a couple of sets of chrome rims that I'm cleaning up. One set of vette wheels (c5 I think) and a set of deep offset Cragars.
They polish up nicely on the face, but the back side not so much.
Which got me to thinking it might be a good idea to maybe paint or plasti-dip that side black since it already looks rough and even if they were brand new it only be about a week till they were covered in brake dust, dirt, etc. anyway so why not just go ahead and make them black on the back.
I searched on here and consulted YouTube about this with no clear answers.
So my question is, has anyone done this?
Is it a good idea?
If so, what should be done to prep the surface and what method/type of paint to use?
Thanks in advance 😬👍

I would bead blast them, if possible (tape off parts you don't want to blast with a couple of layers of masking tape), then use paint made specifically for wheels (might have to get it from a professional auto body supply store).
