My 97 4X4 with painted 2wd rims

I liked the look of the 2wd stock blazer rims a 4x4 blazer, it gives it a wider looking stance and puts the tires at just about an inch past the fenders. I got a set of chevy 2wd rims off a blazer at a local junkyard cheap, then cleaned them up and painted them black and left the lip unpainted. Here are the results with a set of buckshot mudders 30 x 9.50. I also got a cat back exhaust and a GM tow hitch from the same truck, I only paid about $160 for the rims, exhaust, and tow hitch. Also I have NO rubbing issues with the wheels, my blazer does have the keys adjusted and a 1.5" shackle lift in the rear.

How did you paint those? Was it expensive to do? I'm thinking about going the same route you have. I already have the 2wd stock rims and they look really nice the way you've done it. Please let me know the cost/how hard it was to do. Thanks.

Just some semi gloss rattle can paint from Rust-Oleum ($5 a can, I used 2 cans). just take your time to tape off what you don't want to be painted and make sure you scuff up the old rims with a scotch brite pad so the paint can stick properly. I will have to post some new pics up of the blazer, i recently put the newer 98-up front bumper on it with larger 5" hella lights.

The 2wd and 4wd blazers have different offsets. So when you put a 2wd rim on a 4wd blazer or 4wd S10 the rim moves more outward due to the offset/backspacing giving that wider stance a lot of people want to achieve.

How well do you think that the paint is going to hold up on day to day abuse. Especially in the winter.
