New Wheels and Tires
 
I have a stock 2002 Blazer 4wd. I just put a new set of wheels and tires on. Wheels are 15" Cragars 10" wide. I put 31/10.5/15 tires on. They are scrubbing, cut the front bumper but they are still hitting on the rear of the fender well. I just spent alot on these wheels and tires so I want to fix this as inexpensive as possible. So my question is....do I cut my fender wells, or do I lift it? I would only want about a 2" lift. And if I lift it......body lift, suspension lift, or a leveling kit? Leveling kit seems to be the most cost affective but is it a decent lift?

google each lift and attach wiki to the end of the search to find out the pros and cons of each. id be happy to help with specific questions, but typing out descriptions of each and everything involved could be books of information.

I just bought my blazer, so as for what suspension or body lifts to put on to make 31's fit, I wouldn't be able to help. As for fender trimming vs. lifts, I have done both in the past.

Personally I would recommend a T-bar crank, and an add a leaf or something else on the rear. It might ride rough with an add a leaf, but there are other options such as ZUK kits (what I'm doing this weekend) or other minor fixes. I hear with the 1.5" T-bar crank you can fit 31's (don't quote me on that though) So pretty much less than $100 on add a leafs and a $50 alignment at a local shop should/might give you clearance.

I have 31x12.5x15 on the stock rims on the tan blazer you see in my sig. The front tires would sometimes hit the top of the fenders when I drove over a decent sized bump with some speed. The tires would actually peel the top of the fender, behind the trim down. I got sick of having to bang the fender back to normal so I did a 1-1.5" t-bar crank. Took care of the problem, it's never hit since. And now it sits level. My 31s never came close to the bumper though, it's probably cause you have different backspaced rims. I recommend a 1" t-bar crank and if they rub still do a 2-3" body lift. And make some bumper brackets. Is your truck 2 or 4 door?
Just remember a t-bar crank could put more stress on the frontend.(cv axles, ball joints, etc.)
