the right wheels, rims for the right look!
please help.
Our Blazer looks like this: I personally think that our wheels are to much "under" the car. This makes it look high and thin. Where as I want it to look wide and fat! Like the next picture below http://94.100.114.148/680150001-6802...36_6_dvnn.jpeg and I want it to lok more like this sub http://img93.imageshack.us/img93/7065/dsc6636e.jpg Please help. What to do to get this look? |
You're looking for wheel spacers. it will add backspacing to the tires and make them stick out like that.
They look like this (the purple part): http://www.explorer4x4.com/wheel_spacer.JPG Some reading material too if you want to know more: http://www.explorer4x4.com/wheel_spacers.htm Also, you may want to get some wider tires...off road or mud tires tend to look a lot thicker. On a stock height you'd be looking for a 30x9.5R15 tire in mud or off road style. |
i just adding 1 inch(front) and 2 inch(rear) adapters to my truck the mak my wheels/tires sit more flush.
the blazer's rear wheels sit roughly 1 inch inside the fender than the fronts do....not sure why. just take a tape measure and figure out how much wider you want to go! i got all 4 off e-bay for 140 shipped from a company called "ezaccessory" and had them in 2 days. |
I have read that putting in spacers or adapters will cause unequal wear of your bearings (excuse my bad english, I am dutch).
how bad is this really? btw: nice (red) ride! looking good! |

how bad is this really? btw: nice (red) ride! looking good! If you're that concerned about it why not just buy some beefier tires. That way you don't have to get into backspacing. I mentioned before that 30x9.50R15 is the largest tire you'll get on a stock ride height....just look for a mud tire in that size. |

Well it depends on how big of a spacer you put on. The bigger the spacer the more stress you put on your parts. Just going with something like 1" or 2" of backspacing won't cause that much harm though.

how can I find out what tires will fit our rims?
The biggest you want to go as I mentioned is 30x9.5 R15. Any bigger then that and youll probably be looking at a lift of some sort. |

Not quite.
A 235 size tire is 28.9. So if you got a 30" tire it would only be 1.1" bigger in diametre. Here is a good chart if you are interested in other sizes: http://www.thefosterfamily.org/4x4/tires.html |
