Rim Backspacing
 

Ok so this is most likely a repeat question, but i saw no threads addressing this issue specifically. I am looking into getting new 15" rims for my 31s and while i look rims require that i provide a backspace. What is the backspace for the truck? i have stock rims at the moment but I dont know what I should have the aftermarket rims at.

so if i am reading those links correctly my truck is riding on either 4.5 or 6 inch backspacing? But neither of the links really explained how backspacing works on wheels. Less backspacing means the wheels will stick out farther? and if i am running 31s on my stock rims with minor rubbing on full lock, will getting less backspace help them stick out enough to prevent rubbing?

Well you kinda answered your own question with your question there bud! You have 6" BS with stock wheels and if you go to a lower BS say 4.5" you will push the wheel out away from the frame further therefore it should help to eliminate the rubbing issues you are having. That being said with the 4.5" BS you will probably then rub on the outside of your fender and possibly the bumper valance. Both of which simple solutions are readily available many many times over on this forum. Not trying to sound like a dick but there is so much information all over the forum about exactly what you are asking about.
