Rim Change
Hi sorry to bother if this has been dealt with before.
I had a set of new Hancock winter tires on GMC rims given to me by a friend who had a 2000 Jimmy 4WD. My question is will the rims fit my 1998 Chevy Blazer 2WD. The tire size is exactly the same I have concerns that the rims may not fit though. Any help would be appreciated Regards Don |
Hey, so I think there will be an issue, I know when can put 2wd rims on our 4x4 because they stick out... but I think there will be rubbing on the inside because 4wd rims sit inwards... can add some spacer without a problem, or take them to a shop and get them put on your rims...

Thanks DonL. You are right wont fit. Was worth a shot though Thanks for the input

No problem.

I'm looking at a set of enkei 15 by 8, 4 inch backset. Does that compensate for the 15 by 7, 6 inch back set? Current rims are bravada stock alloys. I'm not worried about sticking out, I'm worried about caliper clearance and rubbing in...

They will stick out more. They will clear calipers and suspension. The problem you may run into is tires hitting the back of the front fenders when you turn.

thank you Hess I will look out for that if I get them.

I want to say it's about 2-4 inches difference. So yes they do change the stance... not sure if it's cheaper tho lol... depending on prices of the parts you get...

Yes 2wd wheels have 4 in back spacing I believe and 4wd have 6 inch back spacing. I have 2wd wheels on my 4x4
