RIM HELP! Crager soft 8's, 15x8

I just got my crager soft 8's in the mail today, but i did some searching on here and saw that some rubbing issues might occur. The rims are 15 x 8 with 3.75" backspace. I am keeping the stock tire size at 235/75/15. it is a 2000 GMC Diamond edition 4x4. Has anyone with these rims and B.S. had any problems on here?

I don't have them but if you've done some searching already you know that it's the backspacing that will kill you. 2wd is 4" of backspacing and 4wd is 6". I believe those that use 2wd rims have the tire stick out 2" past the fender. If I understand it correctly for every inch under 6" you'll stick out another past the fender. So with a 1" wider rim and 2.25" less backspacing, you're looking at possibly sticking out 3.25" past the fender. My guess is you will rub on the front and back of your fender/fenderwell in turns.

Just install them and see how much rubbing you are going to have. And then trimm whatever is causing it to rub.

I ran 4.5 BS on the 4x4 and had no rubbing with stock size in turns/compression/full lock.

I just put on my 265/70's (30x10.5) on the same 4.5' BS rims and have a bit of rubbing at full lock on the bottom rear fender well. Nothing a small trim won't fix :D

Well.. I mounted them and no problem with the rears, the fronts barely touched the rear corner of the fender well - nothing a sand mallet couldn't fix - but the damn rims slightly rub the caliper bridges. I took about 1/16 off of the bridge where it was rubbing with a die grinder. Upon exiting the highway, I was in a bit ofa hard right turn going about 45-50, and heard 'em rub the caliper again. Has anyone else had this problem? It seems that on the backside of the holes, thethey kind of "flare" out a little. Im thinking iwil just grind off another 1/16 on the backside of the holes where they hit. Other than that, they look tough as hell. I'll get some pics up prolly tommorow. They hang out a bit, but not enough to make it look "El Mexicano" though!

I hope you know how to replace ball joints running that little of backspace. It will cause hell on your front end parts.

Ball joints shouldn't be a problem..wheel bearings though, those don't really like the decreased back spacing. I have yet to see any ill effects though (again I've got 4.5, not 3.75).

And i'll post up some pics later today, finishing the trimming this afternoon :)
