Rough country 2.5" lift tire size

I have a 2001 4x4 4 door and am looking to put the RC suspension lift on it. I want to run 32s, but the kit only recommends 31s. Looking to see if anyone has done this. I'm willing to do some trimming where needed to fit.

3 inch crank on your tbars w,.will destroy your balljoint, axles etc

it says they are reindexed keys so it dosnt put added stress. they put the same load on the torsion bars but the shape of the key makes them taller

doesnt do anything to relieve stress on suspension components. To much angle on the axle, ball joints and tierods. the most you should do without a proper lift kit( lower transaxle) is 1.5 inches

98gmcjames 12-27-2016 07:57 AM

Is there a lower transaxle kit I can get because I already have the parts and they're being installed today

newguy 12-27-2016 12:25 PM

just the rough country lift

98gmcjames 12-27-2016 12:36 PM

I don't have 500 to drop on the truck. It's my daily driver but on an average day I only drive 8 Miles I'll look into it locally at some of the 4x4 shops

SAS, problem solved :D well, accept maybe for the money part...

98gmcjames 12-27-2016 01:12 PM

Thanks everyone and I saw that lift kit list and how you can put 32s with some trimming but now my next question is how to trim behind the rear passenger door seeing how there is only like an inch of the body there. I'm new to this whole car hobby thing so I don't know what you would call that piece of the body haha

98gmcjames 12-28-2016 10:22 AM

this is the lift i bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01IE...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

i bought these just in case the front was higher than the back https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0007...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and these are the shocks i got https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00HR...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

the keys arent needed, stock will do the same. They threw bait and hooked you. Put on the 2 inch shackles crank the tbars 1.5 and call it a day. Send the shackles back and buy ball loints

98gmcjames 12-28-2016 11:35 AM

so i dont need the add a leafs it has 1 new upp ball joint from the previous owner. i dont really wheel at all the most 4x4 it will see is michigan winter. im wondering if im still going to be breaking cv shafts control arms and other front end parts. with daily driving ware.id like to run bigger tires i hate being taller than my truck

newguy 12-28-2016 06:56 PM

the best way to get bigger tires is to do a body lift. the body is the problem for fitting tires. How do i know this? this is my second truck, 6years of owning them

98gmcjames 12-28-2016 07:16 PM

can you gonthw hockey puck route or is pro the way to go i wish i had the 280 for the real kit

newguy 12-29-2016 05:44 AM

Hockey pucks can crack, not good

I just got off the phone with Rough Country and they do sell the diff drop brackets individually for the pair is 55 bucks out the door next paycheck I definitely will be ordering a pair

TMM217 12-29-2016 03:14 PM

Ive been wanting to install the PA body lift but scared the body bolts are gonna be a pain to get out. I already have the RC lift and it looks that 31s will barely fit yet alone 32s? I havent tried 31s yet so I may be wrong.

So is putting a 2 inch body lift on top of the RC kit okay to do?
