Default Stretching studs w/ wheel adapters ?

I have a 1999 S10 Blazer 2 wheel drive. I purchased a set of 1" wheels adapters (same pattern). I mounted the adapter to my hub / rotor and attempted to torque to 100ftlb. (cross pattern) - One clicked but something didn't feel right they were taking too much movement and not reaching torque. I checked the torque wrench on a rear wheel vs. another torq. wrench and it was on the money. I pulled the adapter off and noticed one stud had visibly stretched The hubs are 3 mo. old Timkin's (I installed and torqued to 100 ft.lb.) I figured maybe Timkin uses cheap studs so I installed new Dorman studs. Repeated the install... same thing happening - won't torque and stretched another 2 studs! When tightening they don't have a nice solid feel ??? Any thoughts I am baffled. Thanks.
