Tire Fit

Can I fit a size 275/30/24 tires on a 1998 Chevy Blazer LS with out having to lift it? It's 4 wheel drive and 4 door. And if I would have to lift it about how many inches?

You will probably have to do the t-bar crank and shackles (to level it back out). 275/30R24 works out to be a 30.5x10.8 tire. The offset of the rims can make or break this setup as well. If the rims have 6" back spacing like the factory rims, you will have a much better chance of having them fit.

What about if it was lifted about an inch or two. Would I still have to do all the things you said? Sorry terrible with mechanics part:(

The tbar crank and shackles that swartlkk mentioned is a way of lifting the truck an inch or two.

The torsion bars (tbars) are the springs that hold the front of the truck up. You can tighten/loosen them to raise/lower the truck as needed. In the back, longer shackles between the rear leaf spring mount and frame will lift the truck.

It's the cheapest (and really the only way) to lift these trucks without paying big $$

What is the offset and specs of the wheels you're looking at? In 24", I'd imagine they're designed for a 2WD truck which can cause further issues.

lol usually its someone asking if 31's will fit that gets everyone all irritated. I know there is a guy who has a blazer at the local car audio shop with 24" rims. not sure what tire size he is running but he did say he didn't have to lift it at all.
