tire/wheel package and lift question

Hey guys, new to the forum! I am a GM concept Designer and have loved Chevy all my life. I have a black '95 Blazer that was my college car, and now that I have been out of school, I want to lift it a bit and get some mean looking tires and wheels. Thinking black Cragar soft 8's, 16", 5 on 4.75 bolt pattern, 5 inch backspacing (15"ers only go to 4.5 inch backspacing) with MICKEY THOMPSON MTZ 31-10.50-R16tires. Any thoughts onthis? I plan to do a simple shackle exchange out back for 2" lift, and a t-bar crank up front. After reading many posts and speaking to guy on ebay who sells the shackles, it seems like it would work with a bit a rubbing at full crank...I am not planning for any serious offroading, just want to spruce it up a bit to look sweet. If I have to I will do a 2" body lift, but don't really want to. Let me know what you guys think...here is a pick of the tires! I am removing all the badges and fake chrome accents, getting rid of the pinstripe...so it will be black with black wheels and black windows, pretty simple, but effective.

...ok, seems that those size tires don't exist, so would the 15 inch wheels with 4.5 inch backspacing work? Give me your thoughts.

Welcome to the site.

Sounds like a great plan.
2" shackle lift should work, and a 1" torsion bar crank will help up front. Realize you will wear out parts faster, and need to get it aligned again, and still might rub.

As for the tire, your looking for the wrong size. Try searching in the metric sizes.
Like
LT215/85R16- 30.63" x 8.08"
LT245/75R16- 30.7" x 9.45"
LT265/70R16- 30.86" x 10.94"
These are the dimensions for the Cooper Discovery STT tires.
The rest should be similar.

Thanks for the other tire sizes. Haven't found anything I like in those sizes. What if I decided to stick with the Mickey Thompson's (I really like the tread pattern) and went with the 15" x8"rim with 4 " backspacing? Do you think that would be ok with the 31x10.5 R15 tires, or would they stick out too much? I am not afraid of rubbing, unless it really get's bad, but I am on a tight budget so I would like to stick with these wheels and tires as they are fairly cheap...also, do you know how much the rear tires are tucked in compared tot he front? I have heard as much as 1.5" per side? I will probably also do spacers in the rear to solve that.

Thanks!

RE: tire/wheel package and lift question

sooooooo, the 4" backspaced wheels with those 31"x10.5-R15 Mickey Thompson'sshouldn't be a problem with a 2" shackle lift in the rear and a lift in front from a t-bar crank? If not I am going to order them. Any body have any other tire recommendations for looks more than anything? Anyone have any comments on the mickey's? will they be really loud or uncomfortable on the road etc? Thanks!!
