Tires messing up tranny?? WHAT???

Hey guys im new to this forum and am a newbie to 4x4s. But i have my first questions for you guys.. I'm wanting to get a 2 inch body lift just big enough to put some good 15 inch wheels and put some 33 thornbird tires on my 97 blazer. My question is can my v6 vortex handle these big tires without messing it up.. Im not going to be takin it mudding. Im only doin this mod to handle ice and snow this winter and have it look good.. My buddy said it would mess my tranny up but im not sure if he even knows what he is talkin about.. any help would be apreciated thanks guys.

thats exactly what im saying even with the trimming and 2" body lift youll have major rubbing issuse when turning, did you read the link i posted?? you need atleast 6" of lift for 33" tires.

I got 33's with a 2" lift... A bit of trimming was done.

you also have a zr2 tho, they ride about 2" higher than regular blazers from factory and with a zr2 you only need about 2" of lift to run 33x10.5's no prob when a regular blazer will need atleast 6"

thanks for everyones post but i called a 4x4 place and they said 5 inch suspension lift will work just fine.

it will work if you dont mind rubbing or trimming otherwise youll have to throw a 2" body lift on to get past those issues.
