tires rubbing
i have a 97 4x4 blazer with the PA 2 inch body lift. im running 31's with stock rims. at full lock my tires rub the torsion bars and frame. i got rims with 4 inch bs to solve this, but my tires then rubbed my fender BAD. so how should i fix this? should i get the 2.5 rc lift and then new rims? I'd rather not trim my fender that much if possible

You'd have to lift more to get rid of the rubbing, without trimming. With my 3" BL, and 31's on my first gen, I rub still, with a LOT of trimming. 4" BS 16" rims. 2.5" of the bottom of the fender gone.

thanks, I think im going to go ahead with the 2.5 inch lift. there aren't many choices in 15 inch rims with backspacing greater then 4 inch. shoulda thought of that before I bought my tires.

would the 2.5 inch lift totally fix my problem though? or would I still have to trim my fender?
|
From my understanding it should fix your problem. What about a shackle lift and T-bar crank? That can give you 2" in the rear and 1" 1.5" in the front. I dont know if that is a option for you or not.

I thought about the tbar crank and shackle lift also. I think im just gonna go with the rc suspension lift though just cause it'll give me about and inch more of lift in the front then a tbar crank would. And i need as much room there as possible. Id like to trim my fender as less as possible

The best option would be to do the RC 2.5" lift, and go from there. I'd bet that it will solve your rubbing issue. Even if you still rub a little on the fender with the suspension flexed, a bit of trimming or massaging with a BFH would solve your problem.
