Upgrading stock wheels with Minimal Mods

Hi all, Here is my stock 2003 4dr 4x4:

I'd like to upgrade the wheels to black ones so it looks like this pic:

Through many searches here it seems like everyone goes for the pro comps but what I don't understand is how you deal with the backspacing. The stock wheels are 15x7 5 on 4.75 bolt pattern and 6" back space correct?

Is everyone using spacers or lifts or is there some other way to make this work? Any advice is appreciated. I want to change the look and keep it safe for street and highway driving since it's my only car right now and I have kids.

I've tried searches but every scenario is different so I'm not sure where to start. I've had this car for 11 years and only now have I decided to mod it.

Thanks everyone!
-John

I would go with a 3 1/2"-4" backspacing with new wheels.

It's nearly impossible to find aftermarket wheels with 6" BS most come in 4.75" at most. Less BS means your tires are going to stick out further so you don't want spacers except maybe in the rear to even out with the front. The BS will cause a bit of running if you put a larger tire on but I think they are usually alright with a factory size tire if your close to the 4.75". I only ever ran mine with 31s so I did allot of trimming!

Ive seen some I like with 4.5 spacing shouldn't I try to get closer to stock? Or is there a reason why the 3.5-4 works better?

Ok thanks for clarifying it was rubbing. I'm probably going to get new tires when I get the wheels so the balancing can be done as well.

So if I keep the tires stock size and get 15x7s with a 4-4.5 in backspacing I should be ok?

Also when I buy that type of wheel do I have to get new center cap and lugs? Sorry if this is a dumb question I've never purchased aftermarket rims.

And any recommended sites to purchase the black wheels?

Thank you guys for your help!

Those are pretty nice!

These are the ones I was looking at:

Pro Comp Steel Wheels - 52 Rock Crawler Series - Gloss Black Powder Wheels | 4WheelParts.com

With stock size rubber will they cause any rubbing or other issues?

Probably want to stay pretty close to stock design back space. 1/2 inch difference at most.

That's the issue there no black wheels that are stock size. So everyone here does some sort of Mods to get these rims on their trucks. I'm trying to figure what I need to do if I go with a smaller back spacing.
