Wheel adapters anyone?

I'm in the process of doing a suspension lift on my 2005 Blazer. I've laready installed the 31x10.5 tires on my original rims but would like to space the rims out about 3". A solution for this is to use a 3" thick billet aluminum wheel adapter with bolt pattern identical to the original. Has anyone had experience with this? I'd like to keep the original rims but with the 5" lift, I have to widen the stance. Not just for looks but for handling as well.

I use 1.25" wheel adapters for the rear wheels on my truck. But I personally wouldn't install them on my front wheels. 3" adapters to me seem a bit too much. You are better off going to the junk yard and pick up a set of used s10 wheels or camaro wheels.
