Wheel Adapters and Lug Pattern Q's!
 

So I have a 1994/1995 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4dr 4x4 (love it).

I am trying to put different rims on it... I have rims off of a 1992 Ford Explorer that look JUST like the ones on my Blazer but they are more offset. These ones (below)

My only issue is the bolt pattern is different. When I look up the specs on the lug pattern, the Blazer's say they are 5 x 4.75 and the Ford's are 5 x 4.5.

When I measured them myself, I measured from center of 1 hole to the center of the one accross from it and I got the Blazer being 4.5 and the Ford's as 4.75. (The Ford rim is too big for my Blazer's bolt pattern which is why im confused).

So, could someone explain to me why this is, or what they would tell me to do?!

I want to get adapters to fit these rims onto my car, but 1) I'm confused with my research compared to my results and 2) When looking for adapters, which size is first... the car's bolt pattern or the rim's bolt pattern.

HELP ME ASAP!!!!!!

Better off to sell those and buy what you want, a adapter will work but i have seen way way too many over the years break and cause the person to wreck.

yeah, I agree with Tobashadow I have seen adapters break and don't think I would trust them. If you are looking for a rim that would look nice with the same rim design check out the cragar soft 8's

I think for measurement, you go from the center of one hole to the far edge of the hole across from it. That adds half of the stud diameter (on Blazers it's a 12mm stud) which is 6mm or approximately 1/4" That would measure 5x4.75 on the Blazer hub and I guess the Ford wheel is 5x5 instead of 4.5.

With the wheel already offset like that, adding adapters will just push them further out. I don't have any personal experience with adapters so I can't really comment about their safety. I know I've heard of plenty of people running adapters/spacers with no problems but at the same time I've heard of other people say they've had problems.

Those wheels look like AR Outlaw II if you want to just purchase correct specs for your car.

Ive been thinkin about tryin to find adapters to 6 lug 1/2 ton chevy bolt patterns, just easier to find rims and some people would think its been converted to 1/2 ton suspension lol
