Wrong Tires?

Hey guys, my new Blazer has 235/75/15 tires on it right now. On the door though the factory sticker has the aspect ratio at 70, not 75.

Doing some looking for tires online it seems there is far fewer 236/70's to choose from. Is this why someone might put a 75 on? Is this tire size more common now and thus more/better tires?

What impact if any would running this alternate size have on MPG or the speedo?

Yeah they are just a little bigger and a lot more popular. With that small of an increase you will have no MPG impact, if anything you will get better MPG on the highway. Your speedo will be 1-2 MPH off when youre doing 60. Or at least mine was

Thanks for the reply, I'll stick with those.

Yeah the 235/75/15 is the most common size being ran on these trucks. You probably won't notice any difference in them other than how easy they are to find over the 70! Stick with 75s and you will be just fine:)

My ex`s 2001 4dr had 235/70/15`s on it when she bought it... My 2003 came stock with 235/75/15`s The 75`s wont change anything..except sit a tad higher..

How does having the wrong sized tires on rear of car affect safety?
A shop put P205/65/R15 tires on the rear of my (front wheel drive) Mazda 626, when the recommended size, and the size of the current front tires is P205/55/R15. I did not notice until a couple of days after driving home (65 miles). What are the effects, and in particular the dangers (e.g. braking) of having different sized tires on the front and rear?

It wont affect anything, a lot of cars have different sized tires in the rear. for example muscle cars. As long as its only 2WD
