Differential Question

Will the G80 unit from the Blazer fit the TrailBlazer? Thanks.

NVANZEE 08-28-2010 07:05 PM

no, i think the trail blazers have a 9in rear end

I just did some research and I'm pretty sure its got a 8.5 diff in it. I'd like to put a G80 in it. But I'm happy with it now though. This is a project for later on.

I would think so as long as the blazer has an 8.5 rear end instead of the 7.625

Yep, the GMT360 platform has the 8.5" diff.

Thanks for the quick replies. I have owned several S Series but this is my first TrailBlazer.

The short wheelbase I6 models have an 8" differential. The EXT and V8 short wheelbase vehicles have an 8.6" differential. I highly reccommend replacing your 8" with an 8.6" as they are much stronger and a direct bolt in. Trust me that is what I did when mine failed in my 2003 TrailBlazer.
