rear window wiper on trailblazer?????
 

I have an 04 trailblazer that I bought a couple weeks ago. The rear wiper works but when you shut it off it doesnt go down all the way. It hangs up on the bottom of the window. You then can't open the rear window because the wipers in the way. After I play with it for a while I can eventually get it to go down far enough for the rear glass to clear. It just seems to hang up and stop on the top of the wiper holder instead of down farther (clear of the glass) when you shut it off. Is this a common problem and how can it be fixed?

Is the wiper ramp tight? This is supposed to provide a lift to the wiper arm before it gets to the edge of the glass. If it does not lift the wiper arm slightly, the blade can get caught between the glass and lift gate. If it is stopping before that, then take a look at where the arm meets the ramp. You also may need to tighten the nut at the base of the wiper arm as it could be loose.

How well does your rear wiper work at cleaning off the rear window? If it is not spectacular, you may want to check out upgrading to the 07+ wiper arm and ramp. It is a VERY noticeable upgrade! Parts4Chevys.com has a package deal which includes everything necessary for the change over for under $60 when I bought mine and now the rear wiper works great! Their site looks to be down at the moment though.
