Default Cannot edit old post of my own?

Hi,

I was going to edit the first post of my build thread to add some updates and noticed that there was not "edit" button at the bottom of the post. I checked and for a post I made today, the "edit" button was there.

Is there a time limit for doing edits on posts?

Thanks

This has popped up a time or two. I know quite a while back there were limits imposed as there were several cases over the years where members seemed to take issue with others here and decided to edit their past posts with links to either other forums or lewd content, but that was a long time ago now. I've been here over 20 years...wow has it really been that long.?

Internet Brands is now in control of all of that stuff, but I will take a look around and see what they might have changed it to.

I'll also send you a PM as I may have a way for you to be able to edit it that might come with some other responsibilities if you are willing...

*EDIT* - Looks like the setting for the Registered User group (what the vast majority of users are in) is set to 1440 minutes or 24 hours. I'm not sure why that would have changed other than if they are trying to keep things consistent across other forums they operate maybe. I'll run it up the chain at IB and see.
