How do I post to the forums?

Yes, I realize I'm currently posting to a forum. But it seems this is the only forum I have access to. I want to post to another forum in regards to finding a vintage k5 jimmy or blazer from between 1973 and 1989. In particular, I want to understand more about general maintenance issues, and how to be sure what I buy will pass CA Smog.

Thanks
Blayzer

There are certain sections which you will not be able to post in until meeting certain criteria as described in this post --> New Member Restrictions . Then there are other sections which are closed which may or may not be stated in a sticky post at the top of those sections (examples are the Forum Notice, General Tech Help, Tech Article (DIY), and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) sections). Some sections are just closed (ex. Forum Notice & Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)) while others have sub-sections where posting is allowed.

I checked and there is nothing amiss with your account that would prohibit your posting privileges other than what I have mentioned above.

How do you post a thread? I’m dumb and need help.

Do you have a specific example of a forum section in which you are attempting to post a new thread? You have successfully posted new threads in the past and I do not see any hinderance to your abilities other than what has already been mentioned in the link I posted above that is still relevant now.

Any forum section that is open for member posting should have a '+ New Thread' button at the top of the forum section right next to the 'Subscribe' button. Both of these buttons will be directly below the forum section title & description header.

Example: General Chat section

This is an example from my computer and may look slightly different depending on theme chosen for the site. Mobile will also look differently as well.

*EDIT* - Screenshot from my phone showing the same for those to reference as well:

If you are a new member, be sure to welcome other new members. That is a great way to meet others online and grow your post count.

I wanted to post in the engine troubleshooting section. I have since found it. I did not scroll down far enough. I don’t quite remember it being lower in the page. Thank you for the reply.
