New Members Not Reading Rules

so i logged on tonight and when i went to see all the new members, 3 of the first 4 i read were either joining just to sell their truck or ask about problems they are having and want help.

Is there anyway to do something different?

i know we all love to personalize our intros and what not but would it make it easier to force people to do a "fill in the blank" intro.. i might just be in a weird mood tonight and getting mad over nothing but its just a common sense thing that bugs me with the new guys/girls and the world in general

You are just ragging.... lol jk, yea I saw that, but its ok for them to join and what not, btu I think that they should atleast make a separate thread.... but I feel ya...

i know i'm having a bad day, one every so often is fine and doesn't bother me in the least but when someone has already shown through posts that they know how to do it right but follow up by posting in the welcome area is what got me going tonight

Unfortunately the amount of people that read the rules before posting are slim to nil. The amount that read the big capitalized stickied thread that reads "PLEASE POST TECH QUESTIONS IN GENERAL TECH!" is even less.
You just have to take them as they come. It's frustrating at times, yes, but it will never end and unfortunately there's not much else we can do. Even if we forced people to read the rules before registering people would just scroll right through and click accept.

If you see someone posting outside of the rules, just like the recent rash of misposts in the new member area use the "report post" feature (https://blazerforum.com/forum/images...ons/report.gif) which will email the mods/admins. We can then come on and move or deal with the post accordingly. I can tell you mine comes right to my blackberry, so I'll know immediately when a post is reported. It's best to leave the policing to the staff :).

I know what you're saying sisk, and I'm not trying to mod the site or anything, I was just voicing my opinion/anger with people not using their heads. I'll just hit the report button and not say anythingh anymore

It's all good. You're welcome to express your frustration lol. I've done it many times before here. It's odd, it seems when you get one question that's been answered 100 times you get a rash of people asking the same question over and over, then it dies off. Perfect example was this rash of new members not reading rules and such. Another good example is not too long ago there were posts about what size tire will fit on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis for about the period of a week.
