anybody notice the new changes in Blazer Forum about the profile stuff and all of the stats its apparently keeping? It now lists each of Our member status titles? do all members see all of this stuff? did IB turn us into Facebook junior? any way to opt out or hide more of this stuff?
I noticed the new changes, and actually dont mind them too much. There is a way to be put on "invisible mode" its thru the profile settings.

What are you talking about? From what I see both logged in and logged completely out looks identical to what it has for years now... I'm on PC though. Are you on a phone? You might have to elaborate if you want to provide feedback on something... Uploading a picture to illustrate your point would probably be best that way IB staff can directly see what it is you are taking issue with.
But the location info, total posts, posts/day info has been around for YEARS. |
I don't notice anything different.

If you look at your member profile on the mobile site, there is a little green dot that's says online/offline. In the post windows, it says your ranking(I like that feature). Theres a couple of other little things I think that are more detailed.
I for one used to have a facebook account, and I have deleted it a couple of years ago. This is the closest thing to social media I am on, actually probably the only one lol. |
I guess I didn't realize that the mobile and the PC version would display that look differently. sorry for that omission. I am looking at the mobile version. I don't remember the mobile version you showing us our status titles, total post counts, or anything in an about me window before. I don't mind telling you guys I love all y'all, I just don't really appreciate being automatically counted, tracked, or "profiled". Not going anywhere just curious.
As for the message count, that's always been there, not sure if it's always been visible, but I've kept an eye on it when I first joined, I was able to find out how close I was to "leveling up" lol.
thanks for the input guys. the way our particular forum is set up, don't you have to be a registered member to read or post anything? if I have no "friends", all puns intended, then registered members is the strictest mode? And yet still includes all of us?
Anybody can read threads on the site. To post you must be logged in, which means you must be registered.
again thanks guys. I wonder if someone of administrator status can you tell me about membership status a little bit. I've logged in and out twice and it shows me as a starting member. that title doesn't seem to match first stop or second stop or beginning. I used to be able to post in classifieds. the other day I couldn't comment on a classified ad. am I doing something wrong? Did I get reset by requesting new password?
Your "Starting Member" title is based on your post count. When you reach 250 posts, it will change to "Junior Member". You should have no issues posting to a 'classified' thread unless the thread was locked or moved to the 'Trash' section.
