Woke up to a substantial puddle of coolant under the truck. Knowing I had just replaced the air intake gasket a couple of months ago, I dreaded looking under the hood in fear of finding a leak again. But fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you view it. I found the leak coming from the weeping hole. A few hours later I had it completely removed. I found the GM OEM online, so I have to wait for it to arrive sometime this week.
You caught that. I've been meaning to fix that. Sometime ago I posted about this. The clutch locked up on me. I could not figure out what was causing me to have bad fuel mileage, and there was brake dust all over the engine bay. Well, it turns out the clutch had worn out to the metal, and it fused to the shaft. I broke the bolt & pulley shaft trying to extract the pulley with the puller. I don't really want to dish out 500 on a new compressor, so I'm going to try to cut it out somehow. I have the new clutch asm just have not had time to get to it with all the other issues popping up one after the other. You can see the progression of unfortunate events in the photos below. Also, if you're wondering, I'm running the truck with a smaller serpentine belt bypassing the AC compressor temporarily.
