Default coolant smell outside while running

Okay its a 1994 s10 Blazer 4.3 w vin code. Changed the cracked radiator after flushing the system. After that was all done the water pump seal went. Changed the water pump and all seems well or so I thought. The gauge shows at time 215 and after driving I get out and it smells of coolant. I see no leaks, inside or out, and the res is right where it should be. Any ideas, I dont know the status of the thermostat as I just got the blazer 3 weeks ago and will be giving it to my father in law for a comuter rig. I was going to add a bottle of water wetter but the smell is whats annoying me.

Is it possible during the repairs you got coolant on the engine or body and now you are smelling it evaporate?

Thats what ive been hoping for since its not consuming any coolant so I told him that will his have to wait and see if it goes away. I hope the some what high temps is just an air pocket in the system.

Intake manifold gaskets beginning to leak? That's what happened with my 1996 Suburban - couldn't see a leak and it didn't show any loss of fluid.

Ditto, that can be a slow leak, and it runs down the back and drips onto your exhaust pipe crossover and burns off. Look down by the distributor with a flashlight for puddles. If you see any, its the intake.
