Default curb weight for 1st gen. S-10 Blazers?

Does anyone know about (don't need exact weights), what either a '90 or '92 S-10 Blazer weighs with OR without 4W.D.? Can't find it anywhere...

Any idea if you can tow a 3,000lb. car behind one w./ a 4.3ltr. V-6 in it? I would think the 4.3 is "torquey" enough to do so!? On a tow bar or dolly that is. Not going to use a trailer (too much weight)

i think 4500lbs is on the heavy side. i hd my '92 on the scales @ just over 4200 (see sig for truck details).

as for "can it tow.............". i have a 20 ft car trailer, and have had a '90 long wheelbase 1 ton GM van on it, hauled no problem. i've even gone over the scales with 13,818lbs of scrap ON my trailer, and didn't have any problems. i did have to be a little easier on the clutch for 1st, but other than that.........

with that being said, i will tell you the fatal weak link on these trucks-it's the rear diff. GM screwed up by putting in a "car" size diff, the ring is only 7 5/8", with a small pinion bearing. since i blew my diff yearly, i know this for fact.
you will either wreck (crush) the pinion bearing, causing the pinion to crash into the ring gear and break, or, you'll simply "chip" the ring gear to pieces. i once put teeth from the ring, through the diff cover, leaking gear oil all over the place.
why are you plan on towing this car so much? towing with a dolly or tow bar puts extra strain on your brakes, and since you're concerned about the weight of a trailer, have you looked @ an aluminum one? i know they're more money than a steel trailer (or even a dolly), but save on fuel & weight. if this is something you plan on doing on a regular basis, i'd get a trailer, beef up the diff (narrow a GN 8.8), or upgrade to a bigger truck for towing (that's why i built my '79 LB).
that's just my opinion, but i've wrecked enough "S" series trucks in my life to know their limits.
good luck.

Thanks tooth pic and old school. WOW! You both said the S-10 Blazers weigh OVER 4,000 pounds right? But they look so small, almost "flimsy" when compared w./ a K-5, or other full sized rigs! I'm used to having a full-sized Jeep Cherokee chief which topped th scales at around 5,300 lbs., but don't quote me on that as it has been 2 decades since I owned the beast.
Now I can start to understand why they (S-10 Blazers), don't get more than 24 mpg/ highway(if that much even--LOL!), since they weigh over 2 tons!!

Didn't know about the puney (OEM) rear pumpkin either oldschool, thanks! I'd def. go to the 8.8". I'd like to tow my Ford Escort coast-to-coast, and thanks to your advice, don't know if I really will risk it, since it has 170K on it already. I know, I know, these vortecs regularly get well over 250K mi. on them but when towing long distances with anything that has over 130K mi. on it, you're apt to break-down (imo). Unless it's a BB gas, or diesel, then it might make the long trip.

Maybe I'll just build up my full-size GMC 1/2 ton w./ a 350 c.i. in it... I'm thinking the TH-350 should be replaced w./ a TH-400, for towing, but some say the TH-350's better gear ratios can handle towing okay.?!? Anybody have an opinion, or experience towing w./ a TH-350 ?----Thanks again guys, appreciate it!
