my 1990 4.3 s10 runs for a short time then dies as if its out of fuel and wont restart till its cooled down, have checked for blocked tank breather , its ok and yes there is fuel in the tank!! have changed the following parts, fuel pump, inline fuel filter, dizzy ign moduel and the oil presure sender, but it still does it

After it dies and you try to restart is there spark - pull the coil wire off the dist. hold it too ground and crank it over - if you have spark is it bright blue and jumps too ground at least a half inch or so or is it weak and yellow, if no spark or yellow try replacing the coil - Also after it dies and you go to restart check for a good flow out the exhaust pipe if not your cat could be going bad and plugging up - I've had vehicles come into my shop with the same problem. turned out too be one or the other

Have you ever checked its fuel lines for vapor locks?

That's really strange. Anyway, did you find out the reason for that problem?

Check your ignition control module on the back side of distributor. Mine was doing the same thing the part only cost 15 dollars at advanced auto. What happens is it gets out and creates an intermittent short not allowing your injectors to open until it cools down.
