I have a 98 Blazer with the 4.3L engine that started acting up after a place replaced a blown head gasket. It starts good, runs good for about a couple miles then it just starts jerking and putting and loses power real bad. If you hold the pedal about medium throttle it jerks bad. Let up a little and it slowly gains speed but floor it and it starts to rev up but don't really move a lot faster. it barely makes it up a tall hill by my house. When it acts up, it won't change gears normally and when it does it changes hard. The ses light comes on and when i check it was for the camshaft sensor. when I went to replace it I found out it was unplugged, so i plugged it back in and put a new rotor and cap on while i was at it. still acts up

I would make sure the distributor isn't off a tooth, and since the cam sensor was replaced, a CASE relearn must be done using an appropriate scan tool.

 

What would I need to do to tell if my distributor is a tooth off? (sorry this is my second var and this is completely different) Where can I get a scan tool able to do a CASE relearn and how much?
