My steering shaft was way too close. I fiddled with it too long, tried angling the extension, offset wrench, moving the rubber sleeve, yelling at it. But in 15 minuets I had it out and replaced by moving the shaft. Just removed the dust sleeve, marked it up to realign, removed 1 11mm bolt, carefully pried back with a large screwdriver, replaced plug, aligned the shaft back and tapped it into place, replaced bolt and dust sleeve. Done! I don't think that plug had ever been replaced, it looked really worn more so than the others.
