Default Interior LED replacement guide

So I finally am getting around to giving this it's own thread.

Use at your own risk, as I am finding that some of these seem to be problematic for some people.

I found all of my leds at superbrightleds.com

For 95-97 years:

2 4mm Neo-wedge bulbs for the 2 front power window switches. (One will light up all 4 driver side window controls.)

3 5mm Neo-wedge bulbs for rear wiper, defrost, and hatch pop button. (May be 4mm)

1 3mm Neo-wedge bulb for the drivers side front door lock. The passenger side door lock is light up by the window control light.

1 3mm Neo-wedge bulb for the window lockout switch. (Not recommended as the light doesn't come through very well.)

3 #74 bulbs for the HVAC controls.

3 #74 bulbs for the 4x4 controls. There are also orange filters covering the lenses that would need to be removed to get the color you want. Also note that these bulbs are quite intense and you probably want to dim them down somehow. I used masking tape that matched my color choice. (Thanks Willmsy!)

5 T10/194 bulbs for the gauges. Don't forget to get the twist lock bases for each bulb.

2 T10/194 bulbs for the footwell lights.

4 T10/194 bulbs for the map lights.

1 T10/194 bulb for the license plate light.

1 T10/194 bulb for the glove box light.

2 562 or 564 festoon bulbs for the dome lights (according to SBL)

The rear door window controls don't have lights in them.

For 98+ years:

2 4mm Neo-wedge bulbs for the 2 front power window switches. (One will light up all 4 driver side window controls.)

1 4mm led lights up the whole headlight switch and controls around it. I would suggest a wide angle led for this application. There is an led soldered in place for the rear wiper switch. So if you want that to be a different color, you'd have to solder your own in.

1 3mm Neo-wedge bulb for the drivers side front door lock. (I believe someone had a clearance issue with height on this one.) The passenger side door lock is light up by the window control light.

1 3mm Neo-wedge bulb for the window lockout switch. (Not recommended as the light doesn't come through very well.)

4 #74 bulbs for the HVAC controls.

6 T10/194 bulbs for the gauges. Don't forget to get the twist lock bases for each bulb.

2 T10/194 bulbs for the footwell lights.

1 T10/194 bulb for the glove box light.

2 T10/194 bulbs for the map lights. I think there are only two map lights on the 98+ but if you have 4, then get 4.

2 T10/194 bulbs for the license plate lights.

The 4x4 leds are soldered in, if you want a different color, you would need to solder new ones in.

2 562 or 564 festoon bulbs for the dome lights (according to SBL)

The rear door window controls don't have lights in them.

Once again, if you notice any differences, post them here.

I'm looking to do this but SBL only carries 561 Festoon bulbs? I searched for 562 and 564 but it directs me to the 561 every time.

I didn't actually do the festoon bulbs myself, but I imagine that a 561 would fit just fine.

I see... what's troubling me is that the 561 has hook-like connectors instead of a pop in/out Like the 578 and stock bulb(s). I will look into this tonight, maybe Home Depot will have some Festoons.

Also Thogert, I'm curious about that LED you put under your hood . How has it held up to the heat of the engine bay? Saw a pic on the forums last night, and my bay light is shot.

Ah I forgot that the blazers had the other kind of attachment for the dome lights.

Also, I used this 3w COB led from SBL and I mounted it directly to the hood with thermal compound so the hood acted as a heatsink. I can't say what the long term results were, but it lasted at least a year. If you use a voltage regulator, it should last a long time. I just wired mine into the stock hood light plug, because I was lazy and the Vf is 13.5
