I just wonder how long this whole thing will last, before people start to forget about it

Yup. Been going on for decades. Torture and mutilation of children is not uncommon, either. This Kony dick was undoubtedly born and raised in a culture where it's common and may not even understand how abominable the practice is.
Hell, read a little about Napoleonic era navies.

Remember the children of
Burundi
Central African Republic
Chad
Cote d'Ivoire
DR Congo
Rwanda
Sierra Leone
Somalia
Sudan
Uganda
Zimbabwe
Afghanistan
Iran (I went to high school with one that survived, got out, and moved here)
Iraq
Kurdistan
Lebanon (alleged)
Nepal
Sri Lanka
Palestine
Bolivia
Columbia
Haiti

Good grief... You guys are gonna get me going.
Let's put it this way, I spent 9 months each in focussed 40hr /week electronics training, first in Military, then in corporate world computer engineering.
Well, then I must be 'uneducated' and uninformed. Except I've been reading the front section of papers, Time and Newsweek magazines since I was eight years old.
I also spent a year in formal 'Collich'. That and later interviewing university engineering graduates for job openings convinced me of one thing.

If you dont have any common sense when you go into college you damn well aint gonna get any while you're there.
I know for a fact that the typical middle class 3.8 GP going through 4 years at Ohio State or such comes out knowing less about how people think and work together than the C+ student, who likes to read in off time but goes into management training at McDonald's, does after the same 4 years.
- so much for the 'burger flipper' stigma which always pissed me off because the same who joke about them are the same who really dont know a ****ing thing about real life. Yet crow about being compassionate for the masses.

The socio- economic stupidity of some of my peers and relatives who went through to graduate schools makes me want to cry for our society.

I am not painting college students all with the same brush. But there's way too many who fit that mold and I dont mind saying I view them with the greatest contempt, but only when they spout off with their view of 'what's best for society'.

I read some ******* socialist railing against the 'Free Market' because a farmer in Haiti couldnt afford to grow corn to sell locally since US aid corn sold for less than his planting expenses. Thus 'The Free market' is an evil thing.
I.. who dropped out of collich after one year of non-specialized studies pointed out to him that US Government corn was HARDLY 'free-market'. That it was the result of do-gooders like him promoting 'food for peace' programs.
Of course, he then changed the subject to rail about far east Nike child labor sweatshops where I again nailed him to the wall,, pointing out those child-exploiters had recruited from the local dumps where the same kids were either garbage picking or knocking mortar off bricks from sunup to sundown for less than a dollar a day.

Yeah i agree with you petty. A college kid who gets a high GPA has very little knowledge about the real world or "street smarts"

But i also do agree with "why is everyone just NOW starting to look at these kind of topics" I mean one might say that people are just now starting to learn how to use the online communities to there advantage to get the ball rolling on things like this, But then again you might say these kids are just doing this because its the "new trend" and want to fit in.

I really hope its the first option, or the start of a new way to fight different topics, whatever they may be. And MAYBE make a small change for the better.

Please dont put everyone in the same box.. I'm conservative libertarian.. but if I gave the impression that I do that, I apologize. I should say many or most, not all.

They're NOT just now looking. It's been around forever. Yes, the 'net has to do with the viral aspects of it. Atrocities around the world can be seen buy everyone within the hour. But there's always been the 'Good Cause of the Day'. Some arent seen till later..some cause the same pain and outrage they did at the time.
For me, Rwanda/Burundi atrocities will always a chafing point... we should have made it OUR killing fields. Like the Balkans, there was a definite genocidal maniac aggressor and a definite victim.

Sorta funny this came up just as I woke in early morning to see 'Taking Woodstock' was on.

Showed how principled and yet clueless that time was. We 'cutters' {look up that reference, too} listened to and loved the music, grew our hair long, chased hippy chicks and laughed at those ideological idiots all at the same time.
Most of us thought going into Viet Nam was stupid, because we knew the French had dumped it and run leaving us the mess. But most of us had playground battle experience and knew once you're in it, you dont quit till the other guy gives up or he's unconscious. {And yes, I always got my *** kicked till the other guy gave up. But there was only one fight with him... or his buddies.}

Those of us drawing paychecks from GM were getting a glimmer of how society really worked. We all knew everyone wanted more from us than we could give, and that everyone was for himself first.. but we'd also seen that if you get a chance and take it, no one who had himself done the same begrudges you that. They usually admire you for it.

Which meant our friends at work {certainly mine} were the Foremen, those holding us back were union.

Really! Tibby, Tibby, Tibby.... Are you a Sociopath? This guy obviously is. If you arent a sociopath how can you even think of saying what he would do.
Sociopaths have no 'conscience'. Therefore there is nothing for him to think about and lament.

Would you pet-rescue a rabid dog? A tiger that tastes human flesh must be killed. Serial killers never reform. Child predators cannot reform even if they want to. If you dont accept those truths, you are part of the problem.

I subbed, and they will be getting a donation from me. I was one of those people who did not know this was happening, and the vidoe made me realize that my tiny part can totally help the big picture. I will put my kony decal on my truck with pride, and i hope this ******* is caught and killed... I dont care if he gets to think about what he did, theres forever in hell for that!
