Default Happy discovery

So I bought a 2004 4 door 2 years ago, less than 100k and was in perfect shape. After about 6 months the drivers window was intermittently going up and down.

Finally one day it went down and would not go back up. I managed to get it up using my hands on both sides of the glass.

Went online to see what a motor and mechanism went for, and decided to live with it for a while.

So yesterday I decide to take off the door panel, and see exactly what I needed to fix it.

As I popped off the panel, a nut fell out. Then, as I peeled back the plastic vapor barrier, another 2 nuts fall out, along with the motor. I inspected the teeth on the gear mechanism and on the motor, all seemed fine...tested the motor with the window switch, all good. IT HAD JUST FALLEN OFF.

So, long story short, the fix that I thought would cost a bit ended up being fixed by replacing the 3 10mm nuts and about 40 minutes of time.

SCORE!
