Default 1991 Blazer keeps blowing fuse.

Okay, you guys were so good at helping me fix my 4X4 problem that I'm asking for help with a new problem. The fuse that runs the park lights, tail lights and courtesy light pops as soon as we put it in. Iknow we have a short but I don't know where to start looking. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Is you cigarette lighter plugged in? I believe it's on the same fuse and they have a tendency to short out. Try pulling the cigarrette lighter out first.
If that doesn't work, you can get an old headlight and attatch wires to the ground and power terminals. On the other ends of the wires attatch blade style connectors(like on the metal blades of the fuse).
Remove the fuse and connect the the 2 wires in the fusebox in place of the fuse. The headlight should light up.
Now open and close each door and the tailgate one at a time. if the light flickers, then the short is probably in that door switch. Remove the switch and the headlight should go out.
Hit the brake switch, headlights, anything on the circuit, if the light flickers, that's an indication of a problem. If you still can't find the problem you will have to start disconnecting wiring to the different cicuits one at a time.
There's a start for you......hope it's the cig lighter

If you have a digital multimeter, I would go to all of the park/tail lights and check all contacts to ground. You should have ground on one of them, if you have ground on both, then your short is somewhere in the wiring between there and the fuse box.

Now I have seen a lot of water induced corrosion in the rear tail lights. Pop off the tail light and pull out the bulbs. If there is any corrosion, clean it up. I should pull my light apart and do a how-to on disassembling the plug for cleaning. If I get a chance this weekend I'll do just that.
